Xavier Women's Basketball enters a new era with coach Billi Chambers taking over. Here's a look at the Musketeers 2023-2024 schedule.

There are several new BIG EAST Women’s basketball coaches this season, and maybe none have a more difficult job than Xavier Women’s Basketball coach Billi Chambers. 

Chambers inherits a program that has not won more than nine games since 2019 and not more than 12 since 2017. The program has won just 17 BIG EAST games since the 2016- 2017 season.

But, unlike the other new coaches in the league, Chambers is a veteran head coach with NCAA Tournament appearances on her resume. She led Iona University from 2013-2023 and twice took the Gaels to the NCAA Tournament, including last season. She won two conference titles there, too - the first in Iona history. 

She knows how to build a program and will bring that experience to Cincinnati. 

The Musketeers are picked to finish last in the BIG EAST this season, and a challenging schedule awaits. Xavier will face a string of Ohio MAC teams at home in November, including MAC power Bowling Green, which streams live on FloHoops and the FloSports app.

Xavier then will travel to Tempe, Arizona, for  the Briann January Classic (which is on Dec. 1 and Dec. 2) for games against Temple and Arizona State. 

The Women’s Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout against heated rival Cincinnati is on Dec. 10.

When Is The BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Tournament?

BIG EAST teams will compete to be the automatic qualifier for the 2024 NCAA Tournament beginning March 8 in Uncasville, Connecticut. The BIG EAST Tournament championship game is March 11. 

When Is The 2024 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament?

Selection Sunday for the NCAA Women’s Tournament is March 17, 2024. The First Four will tip off March 20, with the Round of 64 beginning March 22.
