2024 River Hawk Friday Night Showdown: What To Know

The River Hawk Friday Night Showdown is a home meet for the Susquehanna University River Hawks, and you don’t want to miss any of the action from the Robert I. Estill Field House on the Susquehanna campus in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.

The 2024 edition of the event is expected to bring men’s and women’s teams from nine schools, including Arcadia, Bloomsburg, Brockport State, Gettysburg, Lock Haven, Misericordia, Saint Francis, Shippensburg and Susquehanna.

Take this opportunity to watch some of the East Coast’s top collegiate track & field athletes compete in a variety of races and events. They’re just a few weeks away from their conference and national championships.

Anticipated events for both the men and women are: 60-, 200-, 400-, 800-, 3,000- and 5,000-meter races, 60-meter hurdles, 4x200 and 4x400 relays, mile race, weight throw, shot put, pole vault, high jump, long jump and triple jump.

About The Robert I. Estill Field House

The Robert I. Estill Field House is a 51,000-square foot facility that is part of Susquehanna’s Garrett Sports Complex.

The complex includes the field house, Amos Alonzo Stagg Field at Doug Arthur Stadium (Susquehanna football), Douglas Arthur ’49 Field, Clyde H. Jacobs Fitness Center, Orlando W. Houts Gymnasium (men’s and women’s basketball, women’s volleyball), swimming and diving areas (men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams), tennis courts (men’s and women’s tennis teams) and a racquetball suite.

The complex is named after former Susquehanna football coach James W. Garrett (1960-1965).

The Robert I. Estill Field House also includes courts for basketball, tennis and volleyball and a home for indoor track & field events, regularly hosting training and meets for the Susquehanna men’s and women’s track & field teams.
