Northeastern baseball, with wins in eight straight and 11-of-12 overall, heads into a Coastal Athletic Association series with Towson baseball looking to keep rolling. The first and last game of the series will be streamed live on FloBaseball. 

The Huskies scored their eighth win in a row on April 2, trouncing UMass in the Baseball Beanpot, 12-1. The rout was the seventh game amid Northeastern baseball's ongoing stretch in which it plated 10-plus runs.

Five Huskies head into the first series of April with five hitters batting .310 or better—four of the five sport an OPS of 1.024 or higher. Northeastern has combined its ability to get on base with one of the most prolific small-ball games in the country. 

At more than three per game, Northeastern ranks third in all of Div. I for stolen bases. Seven Huskies have stolen at least eight bases, led by Cam Maldonado's 16 on 18 attempts. Justin Bosland has napped 10 on all 10 of his attempts. 

Towson looks to solve Northeastern's offense and end the Huskies' hot streak, as the Tigers come in on a run of their own. 

After a rocky start to the 2024 campaign, Towson rebounded with wins in 3-of-4 last week, including taking the series from CAA counterpart Hofstra. 

The Tigers put at least eight runs on the board in each of their three wins, including a non-conference victory over George Washington. Elijah Dickerson, hitting a team-leading .343 for the season, has hits in each of the last four outings, including going 3-of-5 vs. GWU. 

Bryce Frederick added to his team-high seven home runs on the season in his own three-hit performance, going yard in Towson's rubber match vs. Hofstra. 

The Tigers look to keep their momentum going on their home field for this marquee CAA matchup.

Players to Watch

Alex Lane, First Base/Outfielder  

The reigning CAA Player of the Week, Alex Lane heads into Towson sporting a .452 average and 1.378 OPS—both team-highs—and his 50 RBI are nearly double the next-most among the Huskies batting order (Tyler MacGregor with 29). 

Lane went 9-of-18, homered twice and drove in 12 of his runs in Northeastern's last week of March with a series sweep of Monmouth. He kept it rolling into the midweek Baseball Beanpot matchup with a 2-for-3 effort at the plate, four RBI and a home run. 

Taye Robinson, Infielder 

Taye Robinson earned CAA Freshman of the Week with a 6-of-14 showing and 5-of-9 series against Hofstra. Robinson rebounded from a three-game slump earlier in March with hits in eight of Towson's last 11. Four of his 11 RBI on the season have come in the last four games. 

Along with his uptick in hitting, Robinson is among the Tigers' leaders in getting on base overall. His 14 walks drawn are second-most, as is his .381 on-base percentage.
