Since 2021, the team behind 'The Ten' has meticulously crafted the two best 10,000m races in the world. World-class fields paired with perfect Southern California weather and state-of-the-art pacing light technology, it's the perfect recipe for history.

Over the last four years, the best of the best have converged on San Juan Capistrano for a chance to rip a fast one on a track that's seen quite a bit of history as of late.

As we get closer to the fifth iteration of 'The TEN', it's becoming increasingly likely that 2025 will be the fastest year yet.

The Women's Race Is On Record Watch

While some of the big names that we've seen in years past won't be toeing the line this time around, the current fields for this month's race are nothing short of extraordinary.

For starters, Ethiopia's Lemlem Hailu is set to compete, and she is one of just 20 women in world history to ever run sub-30. She is coming off of a big-time PB in the half-marathon, so it's obvious she's fit. Alongside the rising Ethiopian star are a number of household distance names, including Elise Cranny, Lauren Ryan, Weini Kelati, and Dom Scott, a quartet that has all run 31:00 or faster, and all did so at a previous version of The TEN.

In addition to the true long-distance specialists, several women are stepping up or down in distance to test their fitness against a loaded field. Paris Olympian and American steeplechase star Courtney Wayment is entered, as well as Taylor Made Elite teammate Ella Donaghu, who has never raced longer than 5000m.

On the other hand, road racers such as Amanda Vestri, Taylor Roe, and Jessica McClain are stepping down to 10,000m and will definitely be athletes to keep an eye on.

When it comes down to it, there are probably only a handful of women that truly have a chance at breaking the tape, and that is simply a testament to the legitimacy of the field assembled.

It's Anyone's Race To Win On The Men's Side

South Africa's Adrian Wildschuut and Eritrean star Habtom Samuel are the lone entrants with a sub-27 performance, with the pair sporting 26:50 and 26:53 personal bests. Granted, the drop-off behind them is nonexistent as seven men have run 27:25 or quicker, and another nine men entered with a sub-13:10 5k PB.

Despite never running a 10,000m, Ethiopia's Telahun Haile Bekele is the ninth-fastest man in world history over 5000m, and could easily have a stellar debut in the event. Alongside the 25-year-old is a formidable American contingent that includes Anthony Rotich (27:08), Sean McGorty (27:18), Drew Hunter (27:38), and Dillon Maggard (27:37) among others.

Other notable challengers are Great Britain's Patrick Dever and Charles Hicks, as well as Australia's Morgan McDonald and fan-favorite Graham Blanks.

While he may not be in the hunt for the overall win, Adams State superstar Romain Legendere is making his debut in the event after running 13:02 in Boston just a few weeks ago.
