Three Can't-Miss Races On Deck This Weekend At The 2025 Penn Relays
The 2025 Penn Relays will host a plethora of athletes at Franklin Field as high schoolers, collegians, and professionals all take their talents to Philly.

This weekend, some of the greatest athletes in the country and the world will be converging on the historic Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for the 129th running of the Penn Relays presented by Toyota.
NCAA record holders, Olympic champions, and the best of the best will go toe-to-toe over the coming days, all with the same goal of heading home with 'The Wheel' under their arm.

1. Parker Wolfe, Ethan Strand Looking To Assert 4xMile Dominance
Although they won't get to see either of Villanova's 1500m duo (Marco Langon & Liam Murphy), the Tar Heels will still have their work cut out for them if guys like Gary Martin (Virginia) or Nathan Green (Washington) have anything to say about it.
Chris Miltenberg's star-studded duo have not raced since garnering All-American honors at the NCAA Indoor Championships, but it's safe to say they'll be ready to roll by the time they step onto the track at Franklin Field.
As far as their fitness goes, Strand ran 3:48.32 just a few months ago, and Wolfe's lifetime best is 3:54.17, but he's probably capable of something a bit closer to 3:50.
2. Olympic Development Women's 1500m Elite
A year ago, former Harvard superstar Maia Ramsden anchored the Crimson to a Penn Relays title in the DMR, recording a 4:21.47 1600m split. This time around, Ramsden is donning the On Athletics Club singlet instead and is looking to run a speedy 1500m.
The Kiwi will have the perfect field to chase the coveted World Championship Standard of 4:01.5. The 23-year-old won't be the only woman chasing the standard, as Adelle Tracy (Jamaica), Nozomi Tanaka, (Japan) and Americans Helen Schlachtenhaufen, Dani Jones, and OAC teammate and 2023 champion, Josette Andrews.
In 2023, it took a meet record to break the tape, as Andrews clocked 4:04.88 for the win.
3. Championship of America High School Boys 4x400m
Last April, Jamaica's Kingston College pulled away from runner-up Excelsior (Jamaica) and American powerhouse Bullis School (Md.), running 3:11.86 to break the tape and take the title back home.
Tomorrow, all three squads will be back in the 'City of Brotherly Love', and all have one goal in mind. The defending champions won't have to see either returning podium team until the hypothetical final, while Bullis and Excelsior will get a rematch with a trip to the finals on the line.
Kingston College's lineup for their title defense is Tajh Marques White, Jabulani Mcleod, Marcinho Rose, and Roshawn Lee, with both Rose and Lee returning from last year's squad.
For Excelsior, the 2024 runner-up is the only program out of the three to return three of their four legs from a year ago, as Daniel Wright, Demarco Bennett, and Kishawn Hoffman are back for more, while newcomer Ricardo Carr is hoping he can be the missing piece.
Bullis School's Quincy Wilson is not the same sprinter he was the last time he took on the Penn Relays. In the last year, Wilson has become an Olympian, won Olympic gold, and has lowered his PB down to 44.20. Not only is he faster, stronger, and more experienced, but Wilson and the Bulldogs won't be satisfied with another bronze.
Alongside Collin Abrams, the only other 2024 returner according to the entries, Kenneth Adams and Alexander Lambert are joining in on the fun, as the American favorites are looking to keep the title stateside this time around.
