Today, it was announced by EKO Agency that Adams State standout Romain Legendre has officially signed a professional contract with Nike. 

Legendre will train under Coach Martin at Adams State for the foreseeable future.

"Choosing NIKE means choosing to dream without limits," Legendre said in a provided statement. "I grew up watching the greatest make history with a Swoosh on their chest. Today it's my turn to write something of my own."

But in a way, Legendre has already been writing history. The French athlete has excelled over the 5,000m distance and in 2025 he has become one of the greatest collegians in NCAA history.

Earlier this year, at the BU Terrier Classic, Legendre ran a 13:02.08 5K, the third fastest time in NCAA History.

Just a couple of weeks later, he posted a 7:36.28 3,000m, rewriting the NCAA DII record books with his new all-time mark at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational.

He concluded his collegiate career with a pair of NCAA DII titles in the 3,000m and 5,000m. In total, he collected three national titles while at Adam's State.
