Today, ATHLOS announced that in 2026, it will expand to "The ATHLOS League" and introduce a team-based competition model. It also announced that Sha'Carri Richardson, Gabby Thomas and Tara Davis-Woodhall will have an ownership stake in the project.

In 2024, ATHLOS launched a stand-alone professional women-only meet. That meet will return to Icahn Stadium on October 10, 2025, and in 2026 it will transition to a team-based series of competitions.

The series will begin, following the the conclusion of the World Athletics season in 2026. The World Athletics Ultimate Championship is scheduled for September 11-13, 2026, and one can anticipate The ATHLOS League starting shortly after that.

The League will take place in multiple major cities and culminate with a final championship event.

Sha'Carri Richardson, Gabby Thomas and Tara Davis-Woodhall are joining the project in an "athlete-advisor ownership model". As such, they will have ownership stake in the league.

While Richardson is involved in the league, her participation as a competitor in 2025 and 2026 is still "to be determined". Richardson is focused on the ownership side of ATHLOS, currently.

Last year ATHLOS featured six events, but in 2025 the meet has added the women's long jump which will feature Tara Davis-Woodhall and Jasmine Moore.

Those two will also compete in an Olympic Podium rematch at the Stockholm Diamond League meeting on June 15.

Specific prize money allocations for the 2025 meeting have not yet been announced.
