Bromell recently opened his 100m season with a 9.91 (+0.7). That time was his fastest since the 2022 season and currently makes him the second fastest man in the world this year.
In 2022, Bromell earned a bronze medal in the 100m at the World Championships in Eugene.
If his opener is any indicator of what kind of shape Bromell is in, Rome could be electric.
As mentioned, Americans Fred Kerley and Courtney Lindsey will also toe the line in Italy on June 6. Kerley sports a season best 9.98. He finished third over 100m in Rabat.
Lindsey currently leads the Diamond League Standings in the men's 200m. He won the 200m event in Rabat and finished second in Doha. His season-best over 100m is a 9.97.
Ferdinand Omanyala and Emmanuel Eseme are also in that field. Those two men are currently second and third in the Wanda Diamond League Standings, respectively. They'll look to make up some ground on Akani Simbine who is undefeated in his three Diamond League races this year.
Simbine is not currently entered to race in Rome.
