Wednesday brought the first wave of men's events in the four-day spectacle, leaving Thursday to host the second half of the men's decathlon and the start of the women's events.
Each athlete and relay team currently competing in the championships had to prove themselves in the regionals. The NCAA Division I Track and Field West Regional was set in College Station, Texas, while the East Regional was held in Jacksonville, Florida from May 28-31. The top qualifying 12 athletes and 12 relay teams from each regional advanced to the championships and now have a chance to end their season off with the ultimate victory.
