Olympic Podium Set for Women's 100m at 2025 Pre Classic
Olympic champ Julien Alfred will race Sha’Carri Richardson and Melissa Jefferson-Wooden in the Women’s 100m at the 2025 Prefontaine Classic.

Today - Prefontaine Classic meet organizers announced that this year's meet will feature reigning Olympic 100m gold medalist Julien Alfred in the Women’s 100m on Saturday, July 5 at Hayward Field.
This will mark the first time the 2024 Paris Olympic Games Women’s 100m podium has reunited on the track. Alfred, who won Olympic gold in a personal best 10.72 seconds, will be joined by silver medalist Sha’Carri Richardson and bronze medalist Melissa Jefferson-Wooden.

Alfred made history last summer by becoming the first Saint Lucian to win an Olympic medal, then followed that up by claiming silver in the women’s 200m, running 22.08. She closed out her 2024 campaign by winning the Diamond League Final 100m in 10.88 seconds and added a World Athletics Indoor Championships 60m gold to her medal haul earlier that year.
A product of the NCAA system at the University of Texas, Alfred also captured seven individual collegiate titles and previously won the 2022 NCAA Women’s 100m Championship at Hayward Field. She enters this Pre Classic holding Saint Lucia national records in the 60m, 100m, 200m, 300m, and 400m short track.
