The 50th edition of the Prefontaine Classic, dubbed Pre50, continues to impress. As the Diamond League season hits its midpoint, the competition is heating up, and nowhere is that more evident than in the women’s 100m hurdles. This year’s field is absolutely stacked with Olympic champions, world champions, and record holders.
- Jakob Ingebrigtsen, Cole Hocker & Yared Nuguse To Race Bowerman Mile 2025
- Faith Kipyegon Will Headline 2025 Pre Classic 1500m
- Prefontaine Classic Adds Four Para Athletics Events
Headlining the event is reigning Olympic champion and American record holder Masai Russell, who has been on a tear since capturing Olympic gold last year. Russell made headlines again in May, clocking an astonishing 12.19 seconds- the second-fastest time in history.
Joining her is Tobi Amusan of Nigeria, the world record holder in the event. Amusan set her record at the 2022 World Championships, right at Hayward Field, the venue for this anticipated showdown. She recently posted a season’s best of 12.24 at the Diamond League meet in Paris, signaling she’s in peak form.
The elite lineup doesn’t stop there. Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, the reigning Olympic bronze medalist from Paris and gold medalist from Tokyo, will also be lining up in the blocks with them. The Puerto Rican national record holder is currently ranked number 1 in the world.
With such a deep and competitive field, the women’s 100m hurdles at Pre50 promises to be a can’t miss event; unpredictable, thrilling, and sure to keep fans on the edge of their seats.
