When Is The Bowerman Mile? Prefontaine Classic 2025

The Bowerman Mile, named for the late legendary coach Bill Bowerman, is one of the most anticipated events at the Prefontaine Classic. Now, in the 50th year of the meet, the field is stronger than ever for the event, the men's 1500M.

Two of the three podium finishers from the 2024 Paris Olympics are competing, Gold medalist Cole Hocker and Bronze medalist Yared Nuguse, both Americans. Current World Leader Azeddine Habz is also running and the Frenchman is looking to dethrone the Americans on their home turf.

The Prefontaine Classic is held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, which has earned the nickname Tracktown USA. Here's everything to know about the Bowerman Mile.
