Roisin Willis Sets New American 800M Record At The BU Terrier Classic

It has been a jam packed day full of races and an American record broken at 2026 BU John Thomas Terrier Classic. 

Roisin Willis sets the American record at the BU John Terrier Classic on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, finishing second behind Isabelle Boffey with a 1:57.43 for the win.

Willis set the record with a 1:57.97. 

The Stanford alumni, Willis delivered an outstanding performance in the 800m. From the start of the race, she attacked and ended the race closing down the end of the finish line to break the record books in the indoor track world.

The 2026 BU Terrier Classic will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 30. The women's events will be run on Friday, with the men to follow on Saturday. Men's events will also begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
