Set for May 23, 2026, the Wanda Diamond League in Xiamen continues to add star power to its roster, shaping up to be one of the most exciting stops on the calendar. 

All eyes will be on Norwegian superstar Karsten Warholm, marking his fourth appearance at the Xiamen meeting. The veteran will be joined by Diamond League newcomers Yanni Wu and Mattia Furlani, both set to make their debut on the prestigious circuit.

Warholm returns to the 400m looking to defend his title after claiming three Diamond League gold medals at Weltklasse Zurich in 2025, 2021, and 2019. 

One of the most decorated hurdlers in history, Warholm owns three World Championship gold medals and the Olympic title, which he secured at the Tokyo Games, joined by a historic world record of 45.94. The record still stands five years later. 

Chinese hurdler Yanni Wu will step on her home soil to in the 100m hurdles, making her first appearance at the Wanda Diamond League meeting. 

While new to the circuit, Yu is no stranger to the Chinese track atmosphere. Over the past seven years, she has captured six national titles in the 100m hurdles at the Chinese Championships, establishing herself as one of the country's most consistent sprint hurdle talents. 

Alongside Yu for their first Wanda Diamond League meeting is Italian Long Jump star Mattia Furlani. 

The 21-year-old enjoyed a breakout year, winning gold at both the Indoor and Outdoor World Championships in Nanjing and Tokyo. With strong results already in East Asia, the 2024 Olympic bronze medalist will look to carry that momentum onto the runway in Xiamen.

Despite 11 career Diamond League appearances, Furlani is still chasing his first victory on the circuit. He will aim to reach this milestone in Xiamen in May.
