It has been announced that Olympic 100m Champion, Noah Lyles, will race the 100m at the Rome Golden Gala on June 4th.

Meeting organizers for the 2026 Rome Diamond League meeting have announced that Noah Lyles will headline competition in the Diamond League's fifth event of the year. He will run the 100m.

US Audiences can watch the Rome Diamond League Meeting LIVE on FloTrack.

Lyles was the Olympic 100m Champion in 2024, before he won The Diamond Trophy in the 200m and World Championship Gold in the 200m and 4x100m, in 2025.

The indoor season saw him run the 300m at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix (second in 32.15) and finish third at the USATF Championships in the 60m (6.51).

He last ran at the Rome Golden Gala in June of 2019. Then, he battle with Michael Normal over 200m - before ultimately finishing runner-up to Norman. Norman ran 19.70 (+0.7) to Lyles' 19.72. Lyles would go on to win the 2019 World 200m Title in Doha.

"One of my favourite races ever was in Rome against Michael Norman," said Lyles in a provided statement. "I’m hoping this time brings another one like that."

In 2025, Trayvon Bromell won the 100m in Rome. He ran a then-World Lead of 9.84 (+1.1).
