Quincy Hall and Matthew Hudson-Smith are set to renew their rivalry at the 2026 London Diamond League meeting over 400m on July 18.

This will be the first time these two athletes have raced head-to-head since the 2024 Paris Olympic Games that saw Hall earn Gold and Hudson-Smith take silver.

The 2025 season saw Hudson-Smith focus on the Grand Slam Track schedule before an eventual pivot to the Diamond League Circuit and eventually the World Championships. He won the Pre Classic 400m in 44.10 and finished second at the London Diamond League meeting (44.68) to fellow Brit Charles Dobson.

Dealing with injury, Quincy Hall ran a limited campaign in 2025.

He did win the Rome Golden Gala Diamond League Meeting with a 44.22 over the 400m race.

London will be the 11th leg in the 2026 Diamond League season with no World Championship (outside of Ultimate) on the line, athletes will be gunning for a Diamond League title. 

Of course, they'll have to score enough points to make the final, which is scheduled for a two-day finale in Brussels on September 4-5.
