Kerr finished the mile race at 2026 Diamond League London with a 3:42.66, passing the previous record of 3:43.13 by Hicham El Guerroj in 1999. Powered by Project 222, Kerr set out a goal and achieved it with ease.
Kerr's previous best was a 3:45.34 in 2024, surpassing his previous best by nearly three seconds. Kerr makes history at Diamond League London 2026 live on FloTrack.

Josh Kerr Shatters World Record to Win Historic London Mile
Josh Kerr delivered one of the greatest performances of his career, storming to a world-record 3:42.66 to win the men's mile in front of a home crowd. Kerr broke Hicham El Guerrouj's long-standing mark, while Yared Nuguse finished second in a season-best 3:45.69.
