On Aug. 7, fans saw the 2026 AAU Junior Olympic Games Day 7 get off to a historic start as the very first race delivered a record-breaking performance.
Team D1 Elite Track Club made history in the girls 12 4x800m, setting a new AAU Junior Olympic Games record and taking down a mark that had stood for three decades. The team crossed the finish line in 9:38.34, breaking the previous record of 9:41.03 and establishing themselves as the newest record holders in the event.

Leading the charge for Team D1 Elite were Presley LeFlore, Delilah Walters, Claudia Knox, and Aurelia Ruffin, who combined for a memorable performance on the national stage.
The new record marked another major achievement at the 2026 AAU Junior Olympic Games, where athletes continue to make history across the track and field events.
