The break in the Diamond League schedule is officially over, and we’re back in action! As expected, Lausanne is bringing another stacked field, and the women’s 200m is no exception.
The race features former world champion and the second-fastest woman ever over 200m, Shericka Jackson. But she’ll have plenty of competition, including freshly crowned European champion Amy Hunt, a steadily improving Kayla White, consistent performer Anavia Battle, and Brittany Brown, who is making her return to the 200m after a delayed start to her season.

Shericka Jackson: The One to Beat
Shericka Jackson has continued to show her class in the 200m. She has already run 21.87 this season and has made it clear that she believes there is still more to come.
This will also be Jackson’s first race since the passing of her longtime coach, Stephen Francis. She now returns with an added sense of purpose, and with the season entering its final stretch, the question is just how sharp Jackson can be.
If she is anywhere near her best, she’ll be the woman to beat in Lausanne.
Amy Hunt: Quadruple European Champion
Amy Hunt is coming off a historic weekend at the European Championships, where she won gold in the 100m, 200m, 4x100m, and mixed 4x100m.
There isn’t another athlete in this field entering Lausanne with quite the same level of momentum. Hunt has consistently delivered on the biggest stages, and her world championship silver medal is proof that she knows how to show up when it matters most.
After a massive European Championships, can Hunt carry that momentum into the Diamond League?
Brittany Brown: The Comeback Kid
Brittany Brown opened her season in the 100m at the USA Championships in New York, where she revealed that a serious bout of pneumonia and a coaching change had delayed the start of her season. She said she’s “taking the season slow”.
But resilience is nothing new for Brown. Last year, she earned the wild card spot for the World Championships by winning the Diamond League Final, proving once again that she can find another gear when it matters most.
Now, Brown is set to run her first 200m of the season. The biggest question is where she is in terms of fitness and whether she can immediately make an impact against this level of competition.
Kayla White: The Silent Killer
Kayla White has raced the 200m frequently this season, and the consistency finally paid off when she broke the 22-second barrier for the first time, running 21.92 in Budapest in July.
White has also shown plenty of versatility, already running 10.90 in the 100m this season. Now, with the pieces beginning to come together and the season entering its latter stages, Lausanne will provide a good test of just how far she has progressed in the 200m.
Can White make another breakthrough against one of the deepest fields she has faced all season?
