If being an Olympic Gold medalist, Diamond League Champion and holding the pole vault world record wasn’t enough, Armand Duplantis can also add releasing a hit song to a long list of accomplishments.

Before the Wanda Diamond League Final and World Athletics Championship, Duplantis released a song called “Gold,” along with a music video to accompany the track.

“Gold” is a fitting title for an athlete that has seen nothing but gold medals throughout his career, but the song focuses on more than his career. His lyrics are based on a theme of building unity between people.

Why Did Mondo Duplantis Write A Song?

Mondo Duplantis talked to World Athletics about his motivation behind the song “Gold.”

"I wrote the song around representing something that’s a lot bigger than yourself,” Duplantis said. “I think that’s what we all do when we’re on the track. We represent our family, our team, our coaches, and I love that concept.”

The song, which was written and performed by Duplantis, will be the official anthem of the 2026 World Athletics Championship.
