This year, cross-country fans will be able to watch the nation’s best compete at every Brooks XC Region Championship live for the first time in the series’ 47-year history.

Today, FloSports announced that it will stream the four regional meets leading up to the Brooks XC Championships presented by Fleet Feet in Balboa Park live on FloTrack.

These events precede the Brooks XC National Championships—the ultimate high school cross-country national championship. While the National Championship has been regularly streamed live, there hasn’t been a consistent package covering every region championship—until now with the qualifying races made accessible to a national audience as part of a multi-year partnership with Brooks Running and FloSports

In order to qualify for the Brooks XC Championships on December 12, the toughest high school runners must first place top 10 in the boys and girls championship race at their respective region championship meets across the Northeast, South, Midwest, and West. Here is the full schedule of the 2026 region championships:

The broadcast of the region championships is the latest development in a resurgence for the storied national championship. In August 2025, Foot Locker announced it was discontinuing the event—ending its streak as the nation’s longest-running high school national championship. Within days, Brooks Running, Fleet Feet, and other event partners stepped in to salvage the meet, now known as the Brooks XC Championships presented by Fleet Feet.

FloTrack broadcast the 2025 championship at Balboa Park, which featured thrilling victories from Natasza Dudek (16:55.5) in the girls' race and Jackson Spencer (15:10.7) in the boys' race. Led by Dudek, the Midwest Region won the girls team title by three points. The boys race was won by the South Region contingent.

The four region championships present exciting opportunities for breakthroughs beyond the state level. After battling against the best at the state championship, athletes can test themselves against top talent from surrounding states at the regional level—and often emerge as national contenders. Last year, Sophia Szolosi won the Midwest Regional in her fourth and final attempt to qualify for the championship after three years of near-misses. Two weeks later, the runner from Athens, Ohio, finished fourth overall at the championship in San Diego.
