Liliya Shobukhova banned for doping
Liliya Shobukhova has been banned for two years following abnormalities detected in her biological passport, according to the Russian Athletics Federation.

The second-fastest marathoner of all-time (2:18:20 in Chicago) will lose her 2010 London Marathon title and her Chicago Marathon titles from 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Additionally, if the ban is upheld, Shobukhova will lose her World Marathon Major (WMM) series wins from the 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 season. Irina Mikitenko and Edna Kiplagat finished runner-up in those years, respectively.

Paula Radcliffe noted that the WMM should take action and award the $500,000 prize purse to the "rightful winners."
Kara Goucher also took to Twitter to voice her displeasure.
Shobukhova has not competed since her fourth place finish at the 2012 Chicago Marathon. Her ban will begin January 24, 2013 and will conclude on January 23, 2015.
