Analysis:
First of all, Princeton has probably its best talent since Lynn Jennings, Olympian and World Cross Country Champion back in the 80’s, in Megan Curham. This thin red head napped the 34th spot in the NCAA last year as a freshman and was the third Ivy Leaguer in the meet. She added to her cross experience by representing Team USA on the junior squad to the BUPA meet in Edinburgh last January. She was an outstanding high school 10k star and threw down a 16:00 for 5k last spring to broaden her resume. The 6k distance is looking more and more like something Megan will excel at and look for her to shake things up in Indiana this November. She has quality help behind her to help the Lady Tigers surpass their 30th place finish from last year.Elizabeth Bird ran 10:13 in the steeple in the spring and she has adequate speed with her 4:27. She is just a sophomore too.

Last year’s captain Emily De La Bruyere is the only senior that Coach Pete Farrell will be counting on. She was 13th in the Mid Atlantic last year and along with junior Kathryn Fluehr, will give this team the maturity every team needs to be a challenger in the Heps, and more importantly, the NCAA championships.

The wild card will be freshman, Natalie Rathjen, whose 10:19 for 3200 last year was an outstanding mark backing up her Texas 4A state cross championship in 2013.

You have to like what the Coach Farrell has going for him here. He is the only coach the Lady Tigers have ever had, and this crew of youngsters he has assembled, may lead him further than any other Princeton women’s team has ever been.
