Kenenisa Bekele
has dropped out of the London Marathon.

Bekele, a three-time Olympic Gold medalist, was scheduled to make his London 26.2 debut, but suffered an injury during the Dubai Marathon in January, where he dropped out. He finished fourth at the 2014 Bank of America Chicago Marathon in 2:05:51 and won the Paris Marathon in 2:05:04, his personal best in the event.

With Bekele out, Geoffrey Mutai is in. Mutai most recently finished sixth in the TCS New York City Marathon in 2:13:44. He holds a personal best of 2:03:02 from his 2011 Boston Marathon victory.

Mutai will face incredible competition in London, as world record-holder Dennis Kimetto and former world record-holder and defending London champion Wilson Kipsang.
