Analysis:

The Seminoles finished 2014 in the dreaded cellar at NCAAs, largely due to #1 man Jack Goodwin’s DNF and likely #3 man Glen Yarham missing the latter half of the season with injury. Without Goodwin and Yarham, Florida State was led in Terre Haute by Zak Seddon’s 152nd place finish.

Although Yarham has left the program, Jack Goodwin is back and ready to lead the Noles to a much higher finish in 2015 with the help of Seddon and JUCO transfer Harry Mulenga.

Goodwin was sixth in the South region last season, and figures to be a legitimate All-American contender after a productive spring on the track that included a 14:01 5K PR. His fellow Brit Zak Seddon is coming off the best track season of his career as he earned his first All-American honor by finishing 8th in the NCAA steeple.

Harry Mulenga just might be the biggest dark horse of the 2015 season. The junior from Zambia competed at Central Arizona CC the last two years, winning nine NJCAA titles in that span. Mulenga has shown incredible range on the track with PRs of 1:50, 3:44, 4:01, 8:36, and 14:30, all times that would certainly be much faster if Mulenga had more competition at the JUCO level. He should give the Noles some much needed depth immediately, and could even be FSU’s #1 if he improves like we think he will.

Sophomore Michael Hall and junior Stanley Linton were only 188th and 242nd at NCAAs last season, respectively, but they will be expected to step it up after each running PRs on the track this spring.
