Analysis:

The CSU Rams return the core of their varsity squad which finished an impressive 19th overall at the NCAA Championships last fall. This year the Rams will look to their top two finishers to not only improve on their place but become All-American contenders. The duo of junior Jefferson Abbey and sophomore Jerrell Mock hope to be the reason for CSU’s success in 2015. Abbey comes into this season with great PBs across the board 3:43/8:04/13:50 and Mock who was one of the surprise freshman last year ran 13:55 this outdoor season.

Outside of Abbey and Mock, CSU returns sophomore Grant Fischer and junior Adam Hartman who will have a year of XC Championships experience under their belt. Along with these two, CSU has 2-3 solid redshirt freshmen who may be able to make their case to be part of the top seven.

However, the one man to look out for will be incoming blue chip freshman Eric Hamer out of Monument, CO. Hamer was 4th at both NXN and USATF Jr. XC Championships. He also rocks a strong 8:58 3200 PB. Hamer like Mock last year will be the stud frosh coach Siemers looks to to take the program to the next level.
