Colorado Men and Women Sweep Pac-12 Conference Championships

FULL RESULTS
MEN: Oregon’s Edward Cheserek won his third straight individual Pac-12 title in 23:06 while the Colorado Buffaloes captured their fifth straight team championship with 46 points this afternoon in Pullman, Washington. It was a close race between Colorado, Stanford and Oregon with each incoming split, but the Buffs made sure that would not last. Since joining the Pac-12 in 2011, Colorado has won every conference championship, making today's win their fifth straight.
Led by Pierce Murphy (fourth), true freshman John Dressel (sixth) and Ammar Moussa (seventh) the Buffs’ 46 points were good enough to best the Cardinal (57 points) and Ducks (83 points). Their fourth and fifth scorers, Morgan Pearson in 14th and Connor Winter in 15th, were ahead of Stanford’s fifth, a 20th-place solid debut by Jim Rosa.
Stanford’s Sean McGorty finished runner-up to Cheserek, while Joe Rosa (eighth), Grant Fisher (11th), Garrett Sweatt (16th) and Jim were the Cardinal scorers.

WOMEN: The Colorado women made it a team sweep by capturing their first Pac-12 Championship since 2011 with 45 points over Oregon (51) and Stanford (80).
2013 Champion Aisling Cuffe of Stanford resumed her dominance by capturing the individual crown in 19:53. Cuffe was absent during the entire 2014 with injury.
The Buffaloes were led by sophomore Kaitlyn Benner’s runner-up finish, a significant improvement from her 29th-place last fall. All American Erin Clark (fourth), Melanie Nun (seventh), Maddie Alm (eighth) and Dani Jones (24th) rounded out the Buffs scorers.
The Oregon Ducks came so close to winning back-to-back titles by placing all five in the top 15. Led by Waverly Neer (fifth) and Alli Cash (sixth), even the Ducks sixth runner was ahead of Colorado’s, but they were no match for the Buffs low sticks today.
