Brooke Wells - The Blog On Getting From Good To Great
The development of a distance runner is pretty cool to watch.  Sometimes you see a superstar in the making and know that greatness awaits them.  Then there are surprises that come when a runner develops from the middle to the front of the pack. Brooke Wells is a runner who is on her way to the lead group.

The women’s race at the Olympic Marathon trials was the culmination of 4 amazing years for Brooke.  She finished 19th in a lifetime best of 2:36:24.

After graduating from UC Berkeley with a decent running resume, Brooke quickly turned to the marathon in 2007 and ran 2:42:35 at age 22.  The trials also went well as Brooke placed 43rd in 2:43:07.

After running 2:40 at the 2010 Twin Cities Marthon to earn a trials qualifier, Brooke was in position to take on the challenge of a faster pace at Chicago that fall. She executed the race perfectly to run 2:37:39.

Then things got tough with a long term injury. Brooke talked about it while training last fall.
