In one year, Becky Wade lived the ultimate running journey. Through the support of the Thomas J. Watson Fellowship, Wade embarked on a solo excursion to explore international running communities in England, Ireland, Switzerland, Ethiopia, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Sweden, and Finland.
From riding around the streets of London with Usain Bolt to hiking for an hour just to start a run on Ethiopia's Mount Entoto, Wade learned first-hand about the vast variety of running cultures around the world.
Four years after ending her studies, Wade chronicled the journey in her newly released book Run the World: My 3,500-Mile Journey Through Running Cultures Around the Globe.
