Who Can Take Down Shaq Walker?
The 2017 Payton Jordan Invitational 800m will be a battle between Shaq Walker and the field.
Former BYU standout and now first-year Brooks Beast athlete, Shaquille Walker will make his 2017 800m debut at the 2017 Payton Jordan Invitational which will be LIVE on FloTrack. Last year, Walker opened up his outdoor campaign with a sub-1:45 performance, a feat that has been rare in the U.S. up until this year when Donavan Brazier and Clayton Murphy broke 1:45 this past month.
UPDATE: Walker is racing the 1500 and not the 800 at Payton.
a) Anthony Romaniw | Was runner-up at the Canadian Olympic Trials last year and ran 1:45.60 in 2016.
b) Christian Harrison | Former Georgia Bulldog ran 1:46 in his final collegiate season
c) Abraham Alvarado/Collins Kibet/Eugene Hamilton | Three men still in the NCAA system who look to be all-american contenders come the post-season (minus Alvarado who is redshirting)
d) No One | Shaq Walker will start 2017 the way he started 2016, with a bang!
e) Eric Jenkins | His pb is 1:52! #Wildcard
