And, be sure to watch our LIVE FloXC Podium Reveal Show Tuesday September 12th at 10AM CT. The No. 10 women's spot goes to Eastern Michigan, and here's why:
SR Alsu Bogdanova (15:43 5K; 2nd at '17 NCAA Outdoor 5K; 81st at '16 NCAA XC)
SR Jordann McDermitt (15:43 5K; 6th at '17 NCAA Outdoor 5K; 81st at '16 NCAA XC)
JR Natalie Cizmas (4:19 1500; 9:52 3K; 16:12 5K; 70th at '16 NCAA XC)
JR Sydney Meyers (4:23 1500; 16:27 5K; 102nd at '16 NCAA XC)
SR Jenna Wyns (2:08 800; 4:24 1500)
SR Anna Aldrich (17:00 5K; 241st at '16 NCAA XC)
JR Allie Knoll (9:54 3K; 17:09 5K; 36:40 10K)
Ashleigh Simonis via South Africa (9:53 3K; 17:14 5K; 35:33 10K road)
Tarynn Cullings via Medina, OH (10:52 3200)
The Eastern Michigan women return to the cross country season with four of their top five scorers from 2016, a year that saw them crack into the top 10 in the NCAA for the first time in program history with a ninth-place team performance. Jordan McDermitt led the team by turning in an All-American performance in 24th overall. This fall, she's joined up front by Alsu Bogdanova, whose runner-up finish at the NCAA outdoor 5K this spring was nothing short of shocking. Bogdanova was just 81st last year in Terre Haute but that 5K performance jets her into the big leagues -- we ranked her No. 12 in the nation.
Behind the solid 1-2 punch of McDermitt and Bogdanova, last year's No. 2 Natalie Cizmas has returned to full health after suffering from injury in the spring. She was 70th at NCAA XC in 2016. Likewise, senior Jenna Wyns looks break into the top five this fall after the consistent No. 4 succumbed to injury just before NCAAs last year.
Freshman Ashleigh Simonis joins the team from South Africa and could be the impact player needed to take this team to the next level. The 19-year-old has clocked 35:33 on the roads for 10K and owns a 5K best of 17:14.
