History repeated itself when Justyn Knight claimed his second-straight individual title and led the No. 4 Syracuse Orange to a fifth-straight ACC cross country championship crown on Friday morning in Louisville, Kentucky.

At E.P. Tom Sawyer Park, the site of the upcoming NCAA championships in November, Knight ran a winning time of 23:13 to beat Brent Demarest of Virginia. Knight and his teammates executed impressive pack running when the team combined for a score of just 27 points. Knight, Colin Bennie (third), Aidan Tooker (sixth), Philo Germano (eighth), and Joe Dragon (ninth) took up five of the top 10 finishes.

Virginia Tech followed for second with 73 points and NC State claimed third place with 98 points.

Syracuse's ACC performance marked the lowest winning score for the Orange at the conference championship. This year's score is also the lowest of any ACC championship team since 2003.

In 2016, Syracuse won with 29 points. In 2015, the same year the team went on to win the program's first NCAA championship, the team scored 46 points.

The women's race was dominated by NC State who earned the program's 23rd conference title with 43 points, well ahead of runner-up Louisville.
