The New Mexico women have an opportunity to pull off an incredible feat at this year's 2018 Division I NCAA Outdoor Championships.

The Lobos' 2017 NCAA XC championship squad of Ednah Kurgat, Weini Kelati, Charlotte Prouse, Alice Wright, and Alondra Negron could score up to 50 points at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Championships, which would give them a spot on the podium and maybe even a team title!

Here's How . . .

Looking at the potential 2018 fields in the 3K steeplechase, 5K, and 10K, the Lobos have legitimate credentials to score high in all three of these events.

- Ednah Kurgat, the defending XC champion and recent indoor 5K runner-up is a legitimate title contender in both the 5K and 10K.

- Weini Kelati has finished top-eight in her first three NCAA championship races, seventh XC, fifth indoor 5K, and fifth indoor 3K.

- Charlotte Prouse redshirted outdoors while at Washington but has run 9:44 for the 3K steeplechase which is third-best among returners.

- Alice Wright is a three-time 10K All-American and was runner-up to Charlotte Taylor in last year's 10K championship.

- Alondra Negron is a freshman steeplechaser from Puerto Rico with 4:40 mile speed.
