AUSTIN, Texas — March 18, 2019 — Today, FloSports, the innovator in live digital sports and original content, and the Boston Athletic Association, announced a partnership to provide live and on-demand coverage of the 2019 Boston Marathon on FloTrack.com exclusively in over 40 European countries. 

The Boston Marathon is one of 7 in the Abbott World Marathon Majors, which consists of the most renowned marathons in the world. As one of the most historic races in the world, it attracts more than 500,000 spectators each year. This year marks the 123rd Boston Marathon, boasting more than 30,000 registered participants, which makes it one of New England’s most widely anticipated sporting events. Live coverage of the Boston Marathon on FloTrack will begin at 2 pm CET on April 15 in countries throughout Europe, excluding Bosnia, Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Iceland, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Serbia and Slovenia.

The 2019 races will feature a very deep professional field with 12 men having run under 2 hours and 5 minutes in the full marathon and 12 women having run under 2 hours and 24 minutes. Fans can expect to watch 9 past Boston Marathon open winners and 7 past wheelchair champions, including Manuela Schar who is the first female wheelchair athlete to break 1 hour and 30 minutes. European fans will also get to follow some of the top European elite marathoners including:

  • Open Men: Scott Overall (Great Britain, 2:10:55 PR)

  • Open Women: Eva Vrabcova (Czech Republic, 2:26:31 PR and Czech national record holder); Alyson Dixon (Great Britain, 2:29:06 PR)

  • Wheelchair Men: Marcel Hug (Switzerland, 1:18:04 PR and defending Boston champion); David Weir (Great Britain, 1:26:17 PB); Patrick Monahan (Ireland, 1:29:10 PB); Johnboy Smith (Great Britain, 1:29:44 PB)

  • Wheelchair Women: Manuela Schar (Switzerland, 1:28:17 PR and 2017 Boston champion); Sandra Graf (Switzerland, 1:35:44 PB); Margriet Van Den Broek (Netherlands, 1:38:33 PB)
