Flotrack's Tasty Race of the Week - June 22

Jun 22, 2010

This weekend had a countless number of tasty races, from national records, meet records, upsets, and US#1s and super-splits, but the one race that encapsulated elements of tastiness from throughout the weekend was the boy's DMR. The lead changed throughout the race as teams like West Windson Plainsboro North, Warwick, Liverpool, York, Burnt Hills, and eventual winner Hamden all in the hunt on the final leg. You had super-soph Zavon Watkins who split 1:47 int the 4x8 battling 2 Mile Champ Joe Rosa on the 1200, Warwick trying to get the win the night after leading the entire 4x8 the night before only to get out kicked on the final, and the guy that outkicked them, Chris FitzSimons spliting 4:05 to go with his 1:47 4x8 anchor. On top of that, look at the finishing times of the teams on the podium; 1) Hamden 9:56.5 2) Warwick 9:59.0 3) West Windsor Plainsboro North 9:59.0 4) Liverpool 9:59.5 5) York 9:59.9 6) Burnt Hills 10:00.0. Those are ridiculous! Take a look at some past year's results and see what 10:00.0 normally takes.
