Results and video highlights from the 2011 BMW Berlin Marathon in Germany. The 2011 edition of the race saw the men's world marathon record set by Patrick Makau in a time of 2:03:38, 21 seconds faster than the former world record that was held by Haile Gebreselassie. Gebreselassie dropped out of this year's race after making through close to 35k of the race. Florence Kiplagat won the women's race in her first ever completed marathon with a time of 2:19:44. Paula Radcliffe also ran her first marathon in about two years and finishes third in 2:23:36
