The First Annual Tri-Cities Track Classic takes place on April 19-20 in Johnson City, Tennessee at Kermit Tipton Stadium on the campus of Science Hill High School. At one of the finest track and field facilities in Tennessee, this meet is hosted by the Knoxville Youth Athletics and director Marty Sonnenfeldt, meet director of the Volunteer Track Classic for 19 years. A National Scholastic Athletics Foundation Select Meet for 2013, this meet is also a stop on the 2013 Bring Back the Mile National Tour featuring the Ray Flynn Mile, named after former ETSU standout and Irish Olympian, Ray Flynn of Flynn Sports Management. Not only does this meet feature outstanding national level competition and unique events such as the DMR, steeplechase, and Shuttle Hurdle, it is one of the most accommodating as well, featuring a 9 lane track, stadium seating, jumbo-tron coverage, and live results. This meet held in upper East Tennessee features the finest qualities of any high school meet in the entire nation.
