Tigst Assefa Wins London Marathon 2025, Address Media Afterwards

At the 2025 London Marathon, Tigist Assefa ran the fastest time in history for a marathon on a course with no male competitors (2:15:50), a separate world record category recognized by World Athletics. The previous record was held by Peres Jepchirchir (2:16:16).

It’s Assefa’s second career World Marathon Major victory.
