Dick Beardsley Recalls Hand-In-Hand Win In First London Marathon

In 1981, American Dick Beardsley and Norway's Inge Simonsen famously agreed to cross the finish line of the first London Marathon hand in hand for a dead-heat victory, a gesture which has come to symbolize the spirit of the event. To mark the 35th anniversary of the race, runners in this year's London Marathon are urged to finish #handinhand.
