Deborah Maier in only second race since NCAA indoors at 2012 NCAA D1 West Prelims

After a strong 2011-2012 campaign through XC and indoors Deborah Maier came into the outdoor season with confidence. However hiccups came with a strained glut and hip issue. Maier's training came to a halt and she had to decide whether focus on the Olympic Trials or take a chance with the NCAA season. She chose the latter and even with abbreviated training was able to run the #1 time for 10k in the nation. Last night she finished 5th in the 10k in only her second race of the season and will hope to be ready to throw down in Des Moines.
