Men's DMR, Oregon NCAA Meet Record, Cheserek Splits 3:52 After Winning 5k!

Mar 12, 2016

In one of the most historical performances in NCAA track and field history, Edward Cheserek split 3:52.84 to anchor the Oregon Ducks’ distance medley relay to their second-straight NCAA title. Besides the split being crazy fast and 'The King' going up against 3:53 miler Izaic Yorks, the race fell only 30 minutes after Cheserek won the 5k in 13:47.89. The relay team of Matthew Maton, Ben Thiel, Grant Grosvenor and Cheserek ran 9:27.27 to break the NCAA meet record of 9:27.77 set by Michigan in 2004.
