USC's Andre De Grasse and the Most Impressive 100m-200m Double in NCAA History

Former USC Trojan turned Puma professional Andre De GrasseÂ’s 2015 NCAA Outdoor ChampionshipsÂ’ performance comes in at No. 4 this year. Not since Walter Dix in 2007 has one man swept both the 100m and 200m at the championships, and De Grasse made it look easy.

First he won the 100m in 9.75 (+2.7) over defending champion and indoor 200m winner Trayvon Bromell. The time would have broken the collegiate record had the wind not been over the legal limit. Still, it was the second-fastest in NCAA history under all-conditions. Then he came back and won the 200m in 19.58 (+2.4), the fastest by a collegian under all conditions.

The double is especially impressive considering the NCAA changed the schedule of the championships this spring by separating the genders into two days of prelims and two days of finals. Last year, both finals would have been on different days.
