The women’s semifinals and finals begin on Day 2 of NCAA DI Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Michael A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas.

Despite unexpected weather conditions, this year's athletes are giving it their all. The meet started off with an outstanding performance from the men division. The women’s division is set to start today for semifinal and final events.

NC State track and field is bringing their very best with Katelyn Tuohy set to compete. Tuohy aims to defend her title in the 5000m and add a 1500m crown to her list of accomplishments.

Who Is Katelyn Tuohy?

Katelyn Tuohy, from North Rockland High School, is a junior cross country champion and long distance runner for North Carolina State. 

The New York native is regarded as one of NC State’s most accomplished athletes. At only 21-years old Tuohy has earned multiply national titles, signed on endorsement contract with Adidas and currently holds a winning streak of four NCAA Championship titles.  

She is running at the NCAA Track and Field Championships 2023 to defend her title in the 15000m, 5k and go for a spectacular 1500/5000 double.

Tuohy is turning heads with talk of her completing the 1500/5K record.

Touhy would be the second ever female to achieve this and first since 2011 when Villanova's Sheila Reid did it.

What are Katelyn Touhy’s Championship Titles?

Tuohy is a three-time champion of the Nike Cross Country Nationals. She is the only athlete to ever win the Gatorade Athlete of the Year three times. 

Tuohy already holds an impressive winning streak–she’s won the last four NCAA Championship races she’s been in. This includes last year’s NCAA Outdoor Championships when she won the 5000m, the first NCAA title of her career. 

The NCAA Track and Field Championship Schedule 2023

The NCAA DI Track and Field Outdoor Championship is a four day event from June 7-10. The men's and women's division will compete every day in semi-final, final and decathlon events.
