There's no time like the present, and for Cardinal Mooney's Addison Mooney, last week's IMG Academy Invitational was a perfect time to show her fitness at 3,200 meters.
The Florida distance runner separated from the field en route to a winning time of 10:31.97, a performance that now stands as the 41st-best in the country.
She's our Week 4 PR of the Week winner.
For Dempsey, a high school senior hailing from Sarasota, Florida, it also represented a 13-second personal best from her best of 10:44.76 from 2023, which came at the Florida Outdoor State Championships.
That might bode well for Dempsey, who cooked up a Florida No. 1 time with the result and will enter the Florida state series with four returners in last year's 3,200m final.
