The 2024 Katie Moon Pole Vault Classic, presented by Nike, is set for Saturday, June 8, in Olmsted Falls, Ohio, beginning at 3:00 p.m. EST. 

Katie Moon, the 2020 Olympic Games champion and 2022 & 2023 World Championships gold medalist, will headline a field of nationally prominent vaulters at her alma mater, Olmsted Falls High School, for the inaugural edition of the event.

The objectives of the event are to celebrate the pole vault discipline and to give back to the hometown community who have supported Moon so much over the years by providing them with an opportunity to watch an assortment of the sport’s best hone their craft.

Prior to competition commencing on Saturday, Moon will be honored by having the Olmsted Falls High School pole vault pit dedicated to her name.

Moon enters the event in top form with her most recent outing in Chula Vista, Calif., resulting in a 2024 world-leading mark of 4.85m. 

Notably, following her NCAA Division I victory in Eugene, Ore., on Friday night, Chloe Timburg of Rutgers is scheduled to make a quick turnaround from the west coast and descend upon Olmsted Falls for Saturday’s festivities. She'll be in good company among a star-studded entry list at the meet.
