The action kicks off with the Women’s 60m hurdles. Olympic champion Masai Russell aims to extend her winning streak, with her training partner and 60m hurdles world record holder, Olympian Devynne Charlton, also in the race. At the Millrose press conference, Russell praised Charlton, calling it “amazing” to run with her and adding, “She’s one of the best in the world.” They’ll be joined by Camylin Blake, Taylor Cox, Ackera Nugent, Grace Stark, and Denisha Cartwright, making for an exciting field.
All eyes will then turn to the Men’s 600m, with Brandon Miller aiming for the world record. Miller opened his season with a smooth 1:45.6 at the MLK Invitational at the University of New Mexico just a couple of weeks ago. High school sensation Quincy Wilson will also compete, potentially threatening the 600m high school national record. Wilson has been on fire lately, recently breaking the 400m indoor high school record.
As usual, the Millrose Games will conclude with the highly anticipated Men’s and Women’s Wanamaker Mile. The Women’s race will feature a powerhouse lineup, including Sadie Englehardt, Nicki Hiltz, Georgia Bell, and Elise Cranny, who recently ran 4:20.83 to claim the #6 spot on the U.S. all-time list at the BU Terrier Classic. On the Men’s side, expect to see Josh Kerr, Hobbs Kessler, and Olympic Bronze Medalist Yared Nuguse, who is aiming for a three-peat in this event.
All in all, we’re in for an incredible show, with world-class athletes across multiple disciplines showcasing their talent. The Millrose Games have long been a premier event in the indoor track and field season, and this year’s edition is shaping up to be no different. Don’t miss out on witnessing some of the best in the world compete—be sure to tune in live on NBC/Peacock at 4 PM ET and experience the action firsthand!
