Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce
The “Pocket Rocket” is back. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce opened her season last month with a wind-assisted 10.94 and recently helped Jamaica secure a medal at the World Relays. Known for starting her season later in the year, Fraser-Pryce’s early appearance may be a special treat for fans, especially as she enters her final professional season. She’ll be joined by fellow Jamaicans Tia Clayton, Tina Clayton, and Natasha Morrison, as well as New Zealand’s Zoe Hobbs. The Women’s 100m is shaping up to be one of the marquee events of the meet.
Letsile Tebogo
Letsile Tebogo is set to run his second 200m of the season in Doha. Since his first outing, he’s tested himself at both the 100m and 400m distances, gaining both speed and strength. That combination could produce something special this week. A sub-20 performance is well within reach for the defending Olympic medalist.
Katie Moon
Katie Moon begins her outdoor season in Doha after a dominant indoor campaign, which included a national title. The reigning Olympic and World Champion in the pole vault opted to skip the World Indoor Championships, likely in preparation for this summer’s outdoor season. Doha’s scorching conditions—forecasted to top 100°F—could pose a challenge, but Moon remains a top contender.
