The 2025 Wanda Diamond League has finished its festivities in Paris as the most talented track and field athletes, including Olympians and world champions, hoped to shock the world. 

For Neeraj Chopra, the best is still yet to come as he looks to outshine his competition and become the world's best men's javelin thrower.

The men's javelin throw event at Diamond League Paris featured eight elite athletes, including five who have surpassed the 90m mark, which Chopra completed in Doha with a 90.23m throw. 

Chopra bested the one man who beat him in Doha, Julian Weber, at the Paris meet on Friday, claiming first place with a 88.16m throw. 

Chopra has made a significant name for himself over the years, enough to amass millions of followers on Instagram, due to his Olympic and international success.

Neeraj Chopra Is Double Olympic Medalist

At just 27 years old, Chopra has become just one of two Indians to have won an individual Olympic gold medal and is the youngest to ever do so. 

Chopra made his Olympic debut in Tokyo at the 2020 Summer Games held in 2021 and took home the gold in the men's javelin with a 87.58m throw to bring home the first gold medal in an individual event for India.

He returned in the summer of 2024 to compete in the Paris Olympics, where he recorded a new personal best of 89.34m to receive the silver medal. 

Diamond League Champion

During Chopra's journey to the Olympics, he also made history by becoming the first Indian to win a Diamond League trophy. 

At the 2022 Diamond League Zurich event, Chopra was given World Champion honors in the men's javelin with a 88.44m throw. It remains his only Diamond League win, as he has settled for multiple runner-up finishes in the finals, most recently in the 2023 and 2024 finals.    

Growing Instagram Status

A side effect of Chopra's global success has given him over nine million followers on Instagram, where he frequently posts about his accomplishments and brand deals, the most prominent being Audi India.
