What Is A Fleet Feet Golden Ticket For The Brooks XC Championship?

With the inception of the Brooks XC Championship presented by Fleet Feet, Brooks and Fleet Feet stepped up to carry a 45-year legacy of high school championship running into a new era. The format, which features four regional qualifiers, also introduced "Golden Tickets" which would automatically qualify select athletes for the championships.

In total, there are ten Golden Tickets for the fastest High School Girls and ten for the fastest High School Boys. These tickets are "Invite Only" tickets which provide athletes with automatic starting spots at the championship in San Diego. Athletes who receive Golden Tickets are hand-selected by meet organizers.

"The final weekend of the high school cross country season has arrived and it's looking to end on a high note at Balboa Park in San Diego, California as many of the best in the country are chasing the coveted Golden Spike at the Brooks XC Championships tomorrow.

Within the four regions -- Northeast, South, Midwest, and West, which had 10 individual qualifiers each for boys and girls, there were also 10 athletes who were awarded "Golden Tickets" throughout the fall to commend their efforts and bring additional depth to the competition.

While the spotlight will be focused towards the favorites, there are several underdogs to looks out for tomorrow who could do something special.
