On Monday morning, event organizers announced the British entries for the 2026 TCS London Marathon, with top-ranked British marathoner Emile Cairess and European Road 10k record holder Eilish McColgan set to highlight the list leading into the race on Sunday, April 26.

After missing the 2025 TCS London Marathon due to injury, Emile Cairess has his eyes set on not just Sir Mo Farah's London Marathon course record for a Brit of 2:05:39, but also the all-time British marathon record of 2:05:11, which was set at the 2018 Chicago Marathon.

After taking fourth at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and a 'DNF' at the World Championships in Tokyo, the last few months for Cairess have been nothing short of promising, as he closed out 2025 pacing Alex Yee to a all-time British #2 marathon time of 2:06:37.

"2025 was a frustrating year for me so it's nice to close the book on that and look forward to 2026. My last two marathons have been championship races, it was the 2024 TCS London Marathon when I last approached a marathon with a primary focus on how fast I can run, so I'm looking forward to doing that at this year's TCS London Marathon," said Cairess.

Eilish McColgan is looking to improve upon her marathon debut from the 2025 TCS London Marathon that saw her finish eighth in a Scottish record of 2:24:25.

A storied carrer so far, McColgan is a four-time Olympian, British record holder for the 10,000m (30:00), 15k (47:12), and 10 miles (50:43), and the British all-time #2 for the half marathon (65:43), behind Paula Radcliffe. She also holds various accolades including several medal finishes at the 2022 European Championships and an individual title at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

“It was a long time coming making my marathon debut and, looking back at last year’s TCS London Marathon, I’m proud of how I performed. Now I’ve got one marathon under my belt, I’m excited to be able to use the experiences of last year to kick on again. British women’s marathon running is really strong at the moment so it’s going to be a great occasion for us to show that in a world-class field at this year’s event," said McColgan.

Alongside Cairess and McColgan, TCS New York Marathon stars Patrick Dever and Jess Warner-Judd, who slated for London debuts.
